The two new battle royale PvP modes will be especially exciting for Rune 2: Decapitation Edition players. The names of the modes are Last Viking Standing and Last Clan standing. Players will be able to take on their enemies alone, taking all of their battle glory for themselves, or as a group for the glory of their clan. It promises a chaotic mess of close-quarters combat against up to 15 opposing players.

Also included in the Duplicity Update is a variety of holiday content. Studio 369 said there are all sorts of Christmas cheer in-game to discover, including Santa hats and Christmas lights. There are also some holiday-themed surprises to find, like a Christmas boss area and even a certain red-nosed friend. Players will have to discover all of the holiday-themed fun for themselves, which isn’t a bad haul for a game that launched in November.

Even with such a big update to Rune 2: Decapitation Edition, Studio 369 continues to work on future features and additions and fixes. Big upcoming changes said to be coming in December include Steamworks seamless, co-op integration, as well as some toning down of the game’s skill VFX, which fans say are a bit too flashy. As for future content, Rune 2 players will just have to wait to hear more about what Studio 369 has planned next.
