MMOs by-and-large are fairly liberal on whether players need to do certain quests or not. RuneScape 3 is like this too, but does restrict players somewhat by having many quests that unlock certain armor or weapon sets. Quests are fun and vary in length and difficulty, with many being extremely important to the overall lore. RuneScape 3 has some of the best lore around, and players can learn a lot about it by undertaking the game’s most story-driven quests.
7 Demon Slayer
While an extremely low-level quest intended for beginner players, Demon Slayer is actually quite important to the overall RuneScape lore. This quest is perfect for newcomers to the MMORPG genre and to RuneScape in particular.
It focuses on a Zamarokian cult that are trying to revive Delreith, an ancient, powerful demon from the previous age. The player has to find the lost sword Silverlight and prevent Delreith from returning to the land of Gielinor.
6 Ritual of the Mahjarrat
Ritual of the Mahjarrat is a part of a larger quest line based on the Mahjarrat faction. It is a Grandmaster quest, so players should ensure they are a high enough level and have a high enough number of quest points to take it on.

A sequel to While Guthix Sleeps in some ways, this quest line is important to the lore because of its focus on the Dragonkin cult as well as one of the Gielinor Gods. Later, players can engage in great PvE multiplayer against Dragonkin bosses.
5 Twilight of the Gods
Twilight of the Gods focuses a lot on Zamarok, one of the original gods of Gielinor. By including events about the gods, this quest is automatically very important to the overall RuneScape lore, making it one to play for any players interested in the MMO’s story.
This is a fairly long quest, so players should prepare to spend awhile navigating through it. As with all quests focused on the lore, it’s best for the player’s experience if they take it slow and pay attention to the dialog from the characters. Having RuneScape 3’s most profitable skills ranked up and at a good level will ensure players can create teleports, potions, and other consumables necessary to take on the villains in this quest.
4 Missing, Presumed Death
A quest that literally features the embodiment of Death, this is an unexpectedly important quest in terms of RuneScape’s lore. This also involves the Mahjarrat, so players who enjoy that quest line will find a lot to enjoy in this one.

The quest takes the players all across Gielinor, so players will need to pack many teleports and food to speed up the navigation throughout. Missing, Presumed Death is a great quest for any players interested in storyline.
3 The Death of Chivalry
The Death of Chivalry replaced the Black Knights’ Foretress quest of old. It expands upon Saradomin and the lore behind the Sixth Age, making it a very important quest to the overall lore.
Unlike other important lore-based RS3 quests, The Death of Chivalry is targeted towards beginner players, so they will not need to wait long before taking the quest on.
2 While Guthix Sleeps
While Guthix Sleeps is not only important for being very focused on the overall RuneScape lore, but was actually the first Grandmaster quest released for players. The sequel to the Temple of Ikov quest features the players going into Guthix’s tomb and protecting them from the Dragonkin cult.

While Guthix Sleeps is highly regarded by the player base and considered one of the most immersive quests in terms of storyline. Any player with an interest in the late-game of RuneScape need to give this quest a try.
1 The World Wakes
The World Wakes is a groundbreaking RuneScape quest that sees the game finish off its Fifth Age and enter its Sixth Age, a monumental event in the overall lore that rewards players who have played for years on the Fifth Age. Few MMOs develop their games to have a sense of continuity and progression in this way. Players should be sure to rock the best RuneScape melee abilities in order to deal with the villains in the quest.
A Grandmaster quest, players can expect to need to become very advanced in terms of their character’s skills before taking this quest on. The World Wakes was even labeled by Mod Mark as “the most important quest to date,” and its importance to the lore is practically unmatched by other quests in the game.
RuneScape 3 is available on its website, Steam, Android, and iOS.
